(More customer reviews)I own a 2005 Mercury Montego. The stereo system has an AUX function and I have an Ipod Touch and hate the radio receiver type integration. So I researched Ipod Interface components and found this one.
Earlier I had purchased a different one fromanother company that confirmed compatibility with my vehicle, but when it arrived it was not. So I returned that one and found this one. Research carefully to avoid the wasted time :)
It arrived before the promised arrival date and in perfect condition. I already knew how to get my factory stereo out, so when I installed this device I found the directions very simple to follow and I was done in about 10 minutes.
Now I can plug in my Ipod Touch and control it via the car stereo buttons, and the sound is crystal clear! No more poor reception with those radio receiver types!
And, it charges my Ipod too.
There are connections for your Ipod, as well as RCA type connections for any other audio devices you may want to install.
When you install, you essentially have this box just sitting inside your console near the radio. You may want to find a way to secure it. I tied mine down with large zip ties.
Well worth the purchase!
